Hi,
I am trying to ingest line data with conversion to AFP with an image overlay. I specify the search path and file for the overlay in the Application configuration. But when I load it keeps asking for a Form Definition. Why would I need a Form Definition? Where can I get one or how do I create one? Thanks!

Don't you need to use some type of utility to do the line to afp conversion..?
xenos, ricoh, compart, crawford??

Nope, ACIF can do this.
STill learning every day. Just not something we do in our shop.
Thanks JD :)
There's really not much of a reason to convert from line data to AFP, unless you're just duplicating something that generally gets done elsewhere. (ie, the billing system spits out text, which is delivered to the printer AND OnDemand, but the printers add FormDef/PageDef/Overlays.

Well we do this. The reason being we do not have Line to PDF converter.
So we store IBM line data as AFP and then use the afp2pdf transform fo which we have license to convert to PDF.

You may get the formdef and the pagedef files from the source systems that provided you the data.
