Title: Changing Large Object button after AG has been created
Post by: rstockton on January 02, 2014, 05:05:22 PM
Is there any way (work around) to change the Large Object indicator button after an AG has been created? We have started receiving some large documents since out AG was originally setup.

Thaniks,

Russell

I think it is controlled via application setting as that is the place where you setup the compression type and large object.
Do you see any problem with having 10MB chunks of obejcts in performance?

Thanks for the response.

It is setup in the App but is not changeable.  We could probably handle 10MB as long as it did not interfere with overall performance.

Thanks,

Hi Russel,

what about a new application in the same application group? This works fine. It's no problem to have two applications in one application group. The arsload has to be configured additionally with the application, because with two applications the ag is not anough to identify the correct application.

Thanks Egon for the suggestion.

The only problem with adding another App is, this AG is SLA controlled, and usually having multiple Apps in a AG sometimes slows down the overall retrieval peformance.

Hi Russel,

I don't know what it means 'SLA controled'. Please explain it.
If you close the active segement you would have a situation that only one application is releavant fro loading and requesting. Every segment would have only one application (retrieving aspect) and only one application is relevant for loading. Does this help?

regards.

Thanks Egon,

SLA (Service Level Agreement) is a requirement that we have retrieval time parameters with the customer, and that we will retrieve the customer documents and make them available within the prescribed times.
