We run the CMOD Server on z/OS and use the Windows client. It looks like to me that with 10.1 you are able to have more than one (1) version of the client on a PC. Is this true? As I remember when installing it would remove the old and replace with the new. I now see a folder with sub folders for 10.1 and 9.5. If so would this also be true if the current version on the PC is 8.5?
Thanks
Tom
Not for version 8.x. I believe it started at version 9.5 where you can have multiple versions of the client as they use the new folder names. Below version 9.5 you should not run multiple instances of the client from what I remember.
The rationale for this change is to help system administrators keep their sanity when administrating multiple CMOD servers that may be on different versions.
I find it especially useful during upgrades, since old versions of the IBM CMOD Client couldn't co-exist in the past, meaning I either had to keep re-installing back-and-forth between 8.x and 9.x versions of the administrator, which quickly becomes infuriating.
