Title: ARSLOAD for Windows input from folder
Post by: jburnha2 on November 29, 2017, 12:07:39 PM

Hi everyone,

We started a process to use ARSLOAD for Windows to load data to our OnDemand server running on z/OS/.  It is working and we are not having problems.  But we are concerned that Windows in the past has not handled file sharing well and if the process that is writing the files has not completed the write and ARSLOAD tries to process the file, we will get errors on one or both sides.  Has anyone run into this problem with Windows file management?

You are correct as this can, and has caused issues on our system.  Generally speaking we now make sure the *.ard trigger files are the last files written.   PDFs are moved with temp file extensions and renamed to *.pdf after they have been placed in the load directory.
