Title: Filenet RM and CFS integration with CMOD
Post by: pankaj.puranik on February 03, 2011, 07:11:30 AM
Hi

I have read some material on CMOD filenet integration.
This material only talks about selecting some check boxes in CMOD administrator window.

My question is, how do I tell CMOD which filenet server it has to connect to?
Where do I specify the server ip and port, etc?
Is this something that is done while installing the CFS (Content Federation Service) and RM (Records Management) components or something like that?
Also if I select the option to use Filenet RM in CMOD, does that mean that the disposition would be entirely taken care by P8 and the expiration options specified in CMOD would be null and void?

Do I need to make any changes in the ars.cfg or the ars.ini file to configure Filenet?

Thanks
Pankaj.

Hello Pankaj,

I have no experience with Filenet-CMOD integration, although I know it is possible and deployed by some of our customer around the world.

The document I've found, that could help you is the following:

http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247742.html (http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg247742.html) Chapter 4, and more specifically 4.5

Hope this helps a little bit :)

Cheers,
Alessandro

Hello Sunny,

we have done this implementation here in Switzerland.

Here are some links that could help you:

http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/p8docs/v4r5m1/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.p8.installingcfsod.doc%2Fcfsodins.htm (http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/p8docs/v4r5m1/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.p8.installingcfsod.doc%2Fcfsodins.htm)

you need to be aware that one CMOD Application group documents (or a selection of document from 1 AG) can only be mapped to one FileNet class. Really 1 to 1 relationship.
You cannot, at the moment, have documents from 1 AG split across several FN classes.

Hope that helps a little bit.

Sincerely yours,
Alessandro

It's basically a document that is loaded into a particular application group.
