Title: Running Multiple Servers? Use ARS_MESSAGE_OF_THE_DAY parameter
Post by: Ed_Arnold on October 15, 2012, 06:41:42 PM
If you're like us we run multiple copies of OnDemand.

When we logon with the admin or user client we use the ARS_MESSAGE_OF_THE_DAY parm to display a message.

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/cmod/v8r5m0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.ondemand.configuringzos.doc%2Fars3u371118.htm (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/cmod/v8r5m0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.ondemand.configuringzos.doc%2Fars3u371118.htm)

In our messages of the day we say which system we're logging on to.

This is good on all platforms.

Except WEBi :-(

I asked for a feature request that WEBi (+ ODWEK) can handle the MOTD of OnDemand but it will not be implemented.

Or how do you handle that with WEBi? (please don't say you just don't use it :-)).

That feature is in ODWEK V9... you can with the Java API get the MOTD.
Now, will it ever be used in WEBi, I don't know, most probably in ICN (IBM Content Navigator).

Sincerely yours,
Alessandro
