I know it might sound crazy, but can ODWEK 9.0 be installed on 32 bit server?
The following link says 64 based systems
All Intel? and AMD processors capable of running the supported Windows operating systems (x64-based systems)
But doesn't specifically say 32-bit.
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27021456#ODWEKhardware (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27021456#ODWEKhardware)
I am hoping that someone here has done it and can quickly say Yes/No
Thanks,
John
Well, the operating system requirement says "Microsoft? Windows Server 2008 SP2 or later".
I don't know what that is, exactly, am just a z guy myself. ;D

I took it a step further from you Ed and checked the hardware requirements for Windows 2008
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd540766(v=ws.10).aspx (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd540766(v=ws.10).aspx)
At least Windows 2008 can be installed on 32 bit servers.
Isn't 32-bit hardware a little overdue for replacement? Even my old desktop from 2006 was 64-bit.
Given the focus on power efficiency that's come about in the last 5 years or so, I'd think that an upgrade would actually SAVE you money on power & cooling.

Yes, Justin, it is. Our intention is to go 64-bit all around, but we have a predicament.....
We use IBM Content Integrator (ICI) in conjunction with a web service we wrote to connect to Content Manager (CM,) OnDemand (CMOD) and FileNet Image Services (FN.) CM and CMOD connectors have no problem working in a 64-bit environment. It's the FileNet Connector that uses J-Integra that doesn't work. Apparently, the FileNet connector is hardcoded to use J-Intergra in native mode for performance purposes. As it turns out.. J-Integra will only work in DCOM mode on 64-bit. We are currently on ODWEK 8.4.1.2. If we upgrade to ODWEK 9.0 and it requires Win2K8 and 64-bit hardware, we can't have the connectors all installed on the same server.
John - I was just looking through some V9 doc and saw this:
"64bit HW only (change from previously allowing 32bit HW for ODWEK)" however also in there is "Java api?s still 32bit and 64bit"
So I'd say that it looks to me like the 64 bit h/w is a hard and fast requirement.
