Options to delete documents set to 'Never Expire'

I have a situation where the Bank is moving out of business in certain geographies.
Now after certain years all the documents that belong to a particular geography has to be purged.
The Storage policy is set to 'Never Expire'.
The simplest option is to just drop the Application Group.

But someone in the bank should remember to delete on a future date.

The other option is to migrate the data to a new application group which has a expiration policy set to a future date.
When the expiration processing runs automatically on the future date, all the documents would be purged.

What other options do I have to delete the documents?

Cheers
Pankaj.

Hello Pankaj,

Well, why do you not change the "Never Expire" to something like "delete in X days"?

It will delete all the indexes older that X days "now", and little by little all other documents will be deleted until reaching the X days.

Or am I understanding something wrongly?

I think the snag is that he still needs to keep everything as 'expire never', but just clear out the items from a specific geographical area.

Unfortunately, I don't see any clear way forward but to extract the documents for the regions that you want to keep, and load them into a new Application Group, then delete the old one entirely.

This gives you a nice clean break from the old data, and gives you the opportunity to tune things (expire type, object size, compression type) in the new AG.

Good luck!
