How can divide functions from Server OnDemand Z/OS??..

Is it possible, divide the functions from server?.. ( workload batch from online query??) for example in two started task ..

Hello JCI,

You can have the query in one server (the main library server), and one or several additional servers for the workload batch (arsload batch), without any problem.

Is that what you were asking?

Hi,
on Z/OS two transparent features can be used.
1) Port sharing two server listen to the same port
2) virtual ip (in sysplex) one logical ip is translated into physical ips

Hi,

I have only used the features in a heavy load server pool (not Ondemand).The configuration itself was not done by myself. But the usage was simple. Different servers are started against the virtual IP and the port configured for port sharing.

You can create index servers on Windows using CMOD MP, and load from there, if it is practical to what you want to do.
