CMOD Operating system requirement:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) V5 U6 or later

I would like to use Oracle Linux 6.5 (with Red Hat compatible kernel). 

Would IBM consider this RHEL compatible as the kernel is the same?

Should be. I'm using 6.4 (Santiago) with Oracle, you should be good. But refer to 9.0.0.3 documentation to be sure.
