PDF Indexer

I have been using PDF Indexer for four years. A single load test on z/OS never finished, dying after two hours.

Just ran a test earlier today on a 2500 page PDF.
AIX was just under 4 times as long as a Windows server. I think Windows took about 38 seconds, and AIX took about 2:16.

We load 500-700 container PDFs five days a week year round. Indexing on Windows servers when loading to z/OS, we used 8 indexing servers, and the load process finished in about three hours. Now going to AIX, we use three Windows indexing server , and load completes in about 90 minutes. And uses about 1/38 the storage. z/OS expanded PDFs by a factor of 19. AIX reduces them by half.

We've recently migrated from CMOD 8.5 on AIX to CMOD v9.0 on RHEL
PDF Indexer performance improvement are very big: Input file: 775 MB, 78,435 documents, 237,008 pages
AIX:    14:23:52
RHEL: 01:21:45

Granted we went from 20 GB RAM to 256 GB...

And just as a reminder, a recording of the webinar on PDF Indexing on CMOD v9.5 is available here on the forums:

Hi,
we have run in a system log issue issue and are going to open a PMR. We have loaded a PDF from Windows against Z/OS server but no message 87 has been generated.
