The message in the manual reads:

ARS0131E No logical place to retrieve object >object_name< Explanation: The command failed when attempting to retrieve the object because there are no cache storage filesystems defined to the system or the archive storage manager is not properly configured. User Response: To use cache storage, define and configure OnDemand cache storage filesystems. To use archive storage, install and configure the archive storage manager. Then restart the server and resubmit the command.

Everything should be reading fine.  How to correct this ?

Hi Larry.

On the UNIX platforms, this would mean that the ars.cache configuration file had no cache filesystems listed, and/or the TSM configuration files (dsm.opt/dsm.sys) were missing or incorrect.

Not sure how this is configured on z/OS, but I hope it's a direction to go in, at the very least.

I know this has nothing to do with the message, but about 25% of the time we see this increasing ARS_NUM_OAMSRVR threads solves the problem.

It's a quick fix to try if you have a very low number (single digits, e.g.) for ARS_NUM_OAMSRVR (the max is 30).
