Is there any documentation on migrating to different platforms? I am looking for the most efficient way to do this I am in the process of the new installation on SLES but my big question is moving the data.

Thanks

Hello Linda,

officially it is not possible.

Unofficially, you can do it.

It is easier if you don't change the username (CMOD Instance User), Database name and path of your installation.

If you are with DB2, then a simple "db2move" will help you migrate the database from solaris to SLES.
For the cache, as long as you are using the same directory structure, you're good to go. Be careful, because you have tons of links behind some directories.
For TSM, as long as you don't change the /CMOD/DB2 instance name, you should have nothing to change. Just point the new CMOD to the TSM server.

If you need to change anything else (CMOD Instance User, DB Name, DB Schema, Path of cache, etc.. etc...) then the migration is a little bit more complicated.

In all cases, try first to do a 1:1 migration on test, and check that it works, and then when you undestand the whole method, then try to change one component, and modify as needed.
In case just ask, and we can try to answer.
