Linux Similar to AIX

Other then buying an old IBM Power server and running AIX, is anyone aware of a distro of Linux that is similar in nature to AIX?

CMOD is the same on any of the UNIX/Linux platforms.  AIX is very similar to other UNIXes, but package management and storage a quite different.  Even though Linux now has the concept of Logical Volume Management, it's implementation is different.

For most of my development work, I use Linux in a VMware virtual machine on my laptop.  But I also have a pSeries server here for when I need to do development work and testing specifically on AIX.

Yeah, thats what I was told. JD- What version do you think would be a good starting point I could toss on my VMWARE on my pc.

Any of the supported Linuxes is fine.  RedHat is popular, but they charge for access to binaries.  CentOS is a freely-available clone of RedHat, and works great with CMOD:

I use personally Fedora, which is also an offspring of RedHat...
