V7.1 Instance, Archive, and Active Log file systems

I am looking to upgrade to 7.1 and the documentation mentions that an instance, active, and archive file systems have to be created.  I believe the software gets installed on /opt/tivoli/tsm....  What is best practice on where these three file systems should be created on?  I am running a clustered environment (HA), so I think all three have to be on the share volume group.
