Express your interests! Put #hashtags in your signature.

ODUG has grown substantially over the last few years, and we now have a large group of users with diverse interests.  In an effort to try and get you information you want to see, we're asking users to put hashtags in their signature (the block of text that appears at the bottom of messages you post).

Check out the signature at the bottom of this message. It's admittedly a little extreme, but it gets the point across.  :)

To start adding #hashtags to your profile, log in, then click on this link, then scroll down to the 'Signature' box, and enter a few hashtags to express your interests:

Not only will it show others what you'd like to talk about, it allows us to send eMails updates on specific topics to those who are particularly interested in that topic.

Suggested Operating System hashtags are:

     #zOS #AIX #Linux #Windows #Solaris #HPUX #Multiplatforms

You can even include specific version numbers if you want to get specific:

     #zOS16 #AIX5 #Windows8

Or some database hashtags:

     #DB2 #DB2v95 #DB2v97 #DB2v10 #Oracle #Oracle9 #Oracle10 #SQLServer

Or maybe you're a TSM user:

     #TSM #TSM55 #TSM6 #TSM7

And some general topics:

So I was preparing the eMail list for today's CMOD on z/OS webinar announcement, and I thought I'd do some sample queries...

Here are just some of the hashtags that people are using:

#AIX - 8 users
#zOS - 5 users
#Migration - 7 users
#DB2 - 7 users
#PDF - 6 users
#Windows - 4 users

I'll have to try and write some code over the holidays to collect statistics on ALL the hashtags that are in use.  :)

I put my #hashtags in.   I added #ODF and #zODF.  We only run ODF on Z/OS but liked the idea  :D
