Hi All,

We have got a requirement like below.

Source                  is         CMOD 8.5             AIX 6.1/Oracle 11.2.0.4.0 64 bit          TSM 6.5 as storage
Destination           is           CMOD 9.5            Linux 11.3/Oracle 11.2.0.3 64 bit            TSM 7.1.1

Gone through some of the threads in the forum. Came to will have some difficulties while doing this after reading threads. Can you help to provide the best solution for this . Thanks in Advance!

Justin Derrick

Practice makes perfect.  Every migration is different.

The only way to ensure it goes smoothly is to read the documentation, perform the upgrade multiple times, and document all the steps and all the problems you encounter, so that you can be ready to execute a solid plan on the day of the production cutover.

You might have some difficulties, as with any migration.
Like Justin said, test it, test it and test it again. There is absolutely no other way around it. Especially going from one OS to another.

Other than that, for this migration there is really nothing special about it, export DB, reimport DB, correctly configure CMOD, and that's it.

I didn't know that TSM 6.5 exist!!! I though that it went from 6.4 -> 7.1 !

Oh... one important thing.... PLEASE do not use TSM 7.1.1... go directly to the latest version. The 7.1.1 is buggy as hell... so do you a favor, go directly to the latest fix pack for Oracle/Linux/CMOD and TSM.

I get the feeling that you keep asking us to do your work for you.  Start with finding the documentation, and reading it.  You should be able to find it in exactly the same way we would -- searching the web, or browsing through the support areas on IBM.com.
