OD 9.5.0.5 AFP Errors

Hello,
Anyone have an issue viewing AFP reports in OD ver 9.5.0.5 ? Currently receiving error message "Could not open filter" whenever you try to page down through a report longer than 100 pgs long. You cannot exit out of the error. You need to do a cntrl alt del to get to Task Manager and then end the OD task.
Very weird !
Thanks

We had a similar issue when we upgraded to 9.5 where any document that was more than 100 pages received an error when trying to open it.

We turned off large object support and reloaded the data and everything was OK.  I think there is a bug in 9.5 if you have large object support enabled.
We are at 9.5.0.2 so I don't know if it has already been addressed in a later fixpack.

For now we just have turned off Large Object support for all of our applications.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will forward this info along to our technical lead. Could you let me know where the Large Object support option is located ?

The large Object Support checkbox is inside the admin client - choose 'Applications' from the left column, select the Application group you want to update, right-click, choose update, then move to the Load Information tab, it will be right under the tab.

However, before you do that, two things...

Make sure this won't cripple retrieval performance for your users -- large object support is meant for large reports (hundreds to thousands to tens of thousands) of pages.  Not using it can cause long delays in retrievals, causing users to complain.

Also, v9.5.0.7 was released last week.  Check the wiki for links to FixCentral:

Is OD ver 9.5.0.5 compatible with Win 10 ? Client seems to be getting errors when trying to load on their test machine running Windows 10.

Justin Derrick

Yes, it should work on Windows 10.  If you're getting reproducable errors, you should be reporting them to IBM via a PMR so they can be fixed for everyone.

It should be compatible, but just to be on the safe side, try if you can reproduce the problem with the latest client 9.5.0.7.
If yes, then it would be good to open a PMR

re-opening an old wound... was there any fix for this besides reloading the data?

jtkelly04

Hello,
IBM suggested we upgrade to ver 9.5.0.8. AFP problems disappeared with this latest version.
Thanks!!
