Unable to initialize server environment. The return code is 1

Hi,

I have an old 8.5 server that stopped working.  When arssockd tries to start I see this message:

"Unable to initialize server environment. The return code is 1"

The ars.ini and ars.cfg files exist and are readable.

The database seems ok.

Any ideas?

Hey Mark.

Make sure you're using the correct user account, and that you have their environment properly defined (.profile & db2profile).

Otherwise, run arssockd with the trace features enabled to figure out where it's dying.

Make sure your /tmp/CMOD volume for your tracing is not full.  Clean it up if it is and unset your trace if you are not researching on an existing problem.
