Unable To Sort Columns

  This one is pretty basic and should be an easy one.
Somehow, I managed to get every single folder,  such that the column headers are grayed out and I can no longer sort. By date, report name, etc.
Looks like a default setting somehow?
Currently at V9, but going to V10 soon and even on that version, can not sort by column header as shown in attached example.

Check Options: Document List Mode and make sure it's Spreadsheet and not listbox
