Max Min Dates

Does anyone know what the valid Date Range for ORS is?

i.e.

The biggest date ORS allows is   December 31, 2099

The smallest date allowed in ORS is January 1, 1900   

And

Is it define by the CMOD software or the backend database, or?

I do not really understand what ORS means.
But as per the IBM Introduction and planning guide for version 8.4.1 :

Content Manager OnDemand supports date values in the range of January 1, 1970 to December 31, 2069. OnDemand also supports a date/time field. A date/time field can contain date values from January 1, 1970 to December 31, 2038.
